Nestled in the heart of the appellation of Vouvray, Domaine Huet was founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son, Gaston. The estate farms 30 hectares of the Chenin blanc varietal, planted across three historical vineyards: Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont and Clos du Bourg. Adopted by the estate in 1988, our biodynamic philosophy is focused on respecting the soil, plants and the environment, encouraging purity of expression in our wines and preserving the authenticity of terroir. We farm according to the different rhythms of the planets and honor the traditions of vignerons from centuries past.

Philosophie du vigneron

We aim to hightlight our magnicent terroirs throght the lens of each growing season.

During a visit to the village of Vouvray in 1928, the Huet family fell in love with the charm of Haut-Lieu, which included a five-hectare vineyard parcel. Purchased in the same year, it is the origins of our estate. Today, the vineyard is comprised of fifteen hectares sitting atop the Vouvray plateau. The deep brown clay of Haut-Lieu offers a classic example of Chenin blanc from Vouvray.

Situated above the estate’s tuffeau caves on the first Vouvray plateau with a south-facing exposure,Le Mont is one of the most cherished vineyards in the appellation for its noble history and eternal wines. Nine hectares of pebbly flint soil and deep green clay provide a unique expression to the Chenin blanc varietal.

Located above the church of Vouvray and comprised of six hectares of vines surrounded by an ancient stone wall, Clos du Bourg is one of the oldest grand cru parcels in France. The flowing river Loire gently provides the vines with morning dew, and a southern exposure helps them receive radiant sunlight needed for the maturity of Chenin. The vineyard’s shallow soil is composed of living clay atop a shelf of limestone rock.
