The estate is located at the foothills of the Alaric Mountain, north of the Corbieres, between Carcassonne and Narbonne, in a wild and unspoiled Mediterranean environment, on an exceptional diversity of gravels terraces, and small valleys.
Jean Lignères, his wife Anne and their team, take care of the family estate which is composed by 90ha of vines, 20ha of garrigues and woods.
We are faithful to the traditional grapes varietals of the Corbieres: Carignans (older than 120 years for some), black Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault for the red ones, White and Grey Grenache, Roussanne, Vermentino, Bourboulenc for the white ones.
The work in the vineyard and in the cellar is
based on the principles of Organic Agriculture and Biodynamics.
The harvest is 100% done by hand, the plots
vinified and aged separately, the fermentations carried out naturally with
indigenous yeasts, limited additions of sulfites and no other input. Everything is done to
preserve the balance. Patient, confident work accompanies very gentle vinification
and ageing. We use vats, jars and eggs of terracotta or stoneware, and barrels.
Our goal: to produce precise, balanced wines with freshness, tension, and elegance, and to give beautiful emotions!
5th generation winemaker, Jean is also a doctor (GP) and Anne was hydrogeologist.
It gives us a different vision, based on the resepct of the strength and the balance of the life.
Developing the balance of the vines, preserving the extraordinary natural ecosystem and its biodiversity, but also protecting the well-being of the people who work and live on the estate, are our fundamental.
